Phew.....I kind of knew that having an ALT lower than it had ever been, was a very good sign....so I expected the good news I had today....but it was still a lovely surprise, and I feel very blessed.

- I was diagnosed in early 2002 with Hepatitis C, 1b viral load of 634,000 IU/ml. worried when I first got diagnosis. live in North London with husband, 3 children, 13, 15, and 22, and Buddy. In 2002, I had liver biopsy, revealed moderate fibrosis. I declined treatment, mainly because I saw my brother, also recently diagnosed, suffering on treatment, and I was scared to do the treatment myself, but the real reason, now looking back, was that I wasn't ready to accept that the virus could damage my life, only other peoples, and I wasn't ready to take steps to improve my health.......5 years later, with the start of intense fatigue, dizziness, anxiety depression, I decided to take on board that this could be due to HepC, and helped by treatment, when on March 1st 2007, baseline viral load of 39,232 IU/ml, I started on Pegasys 180mcg, and Copegus 1000mg at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead. 4 weeks into treatment, the virus tested undetectable. At 12 weeks, and 24 weeks, it continued to test undetectable, and I start writing this blog, in November 2007, at the end of week 36, with 12 weeks of treatment to go.
